The event will include a segment on experimental adaptations of Tagore’s works to various classical and regional styles of performance. This year’s celebration will also include an item called “Shata Kanthe Gitanjali” (Gitanjali in 100 voices)”.

“This will be a 100-plus choir, comprising participants from various corners of the city and Mumbai singing songs and reciting poems from Gitanjali in Bangla and Marathi,” she said.

Rehearsals and practice sessions are currently under way to ensure that the rendition is not out of tune.
