PUNE: Four spots in the state — Mula Mutha river in Pune, Krishna river, and Ganpatipule and Mirya beaches in Konkan — have been selected for cleaning as a part of an initiative by the environment ministry to clean riverfronts, seashores and lakes.The initiative involves cleaning up 24 beaches in nine coastal states, including Maharashtra, and cleaning riverfronts in 24 identified polluted stretches in 19 states in the run-up to World Environment Day on June 5.
